John,
I just listened to your interview with Zoey Frank and wanted to say that I thouroughly enjoyed it. I am a big fan of her work and after listening, I feel I know her and her her creative process much better.
It was a refreshingly unpretentious interview but at the same time you were able to dig deeply with some solid and insightful questions.
Thanks so much for this, I look forward to listening to more of your podcasts.
Thank you for your coverage of the Bennets and especially for your willingness to take a look at your own bias in choosing artists to interview in the past. I cannot applaud you enough for that. Gender bias in art is so internalized and pervasive that it’s easy to see the skewed coverage of artists as normal. Thank you for making the effort to rectify that imbalance. Finally, I encourage you to talk to male artists about what you have learned, and just as a suggestion, take a little time to learn a bit about some of the great female artists of the past and Mention them as references in conversations. Even with the Bennets, every artist referenced was male. We can change this, but it will take a conscious effort on all our parts. Great show! Reference for you- Women Artists; An Illustrated History by Nancy G. Heller. Beautiful book
