This is a project I am developing for a series of sculptures in the grounds of stately homes. The idea is to create a sculpture that would look like an outline drawing of what the stately house would have looked like. The sculpture would be an architecturally accurate representation of the scale and dimensions of the preexisting house. The effect on the viewer would be that they were looking at a really big line drawing of the old house. The idea is to give the existing grounds and gardens an added context by adding the outline for the old house.
The picture above is a mock up of what the sculpture would look like in St Anne’s in Clontarf.
After a series of internet searches and asking to connect to you in a separate blog, I have realized you are a far bigger deal than I thought. I just want to tell you I absolutely love your work, insight and passion. Have you been to the Bantry House? I think I would love a rendition from you at the back of the house on the steps, overlooking the bay. Probably the most amazing place I have ever been. Or a sketch of a Dingle Dog at a book store converted into a restaurant? Or maybe a lonesome Towerhouse in the middle of a long forgotten pasture? Thanks for your art.
Hello Matt,
Yes I’ve been to Bantry house a number of times and I agree it is lovely. I’m glad you enjoy my art.
