I thoroughly enjoyed Theresa’s level headed approach to her life and work, and was very pleased to hear that she’s a fellow fan of Czech surrealist film maker Jan Svankmajer, whose work dates back to the 60s, and which I recommend if you’re looking for a strong dose of surrealism.
As an egg tempera painter I really enjoyed the conversation about pigments and notions of scarcity. Almost had heart failure when Sinopia announced it had no more of a particular limonite mined in Cyprus which I used as my yellow ochre—was nearly totally out when I found a sub from Natural Pigments. Theresa’s work is so compelling
